About Us

Ozette is a biotech startup that set out to develop a revolutionary immune profiling platform to turn data into actionable, interactive insights. Each year people are diagnosed with cancer, autoimmune diseases, and more. The immune system is the ultimate determinant of health and disease; however, it remains a black box. Leveraging our AI-first technology, we want to provide high-resolution understandings of the immune system to fully unlock its power.

If you’re passionate about leveraging technology to improve health, explore interning with our innovative and creative team for three months. You will work on some of the most exciting initiatives by combining human-centered interactive visual interfaces to help solve scientific questions and aid interpretability.

Ozette's collaborative platform enables unprecedented transparency and reproducibility through its version-controlled analysis pipeline. It is built on TypeScript and React/RecoilJS and our backend APIs are written in Python/Flask, primarily, with most data stored in PostgreSQL and S3.

Our founders are leading experts in data science and medicine and we are backed by some of the best technology investors, including Madrona Venture Group (first investors in Amazon), Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen’s Institute for Artificial Intelligence, and Vulcan Capital.

What you’ll do at Ozette:

Learn and gain professional experience in a team-oriented collaborative environment
Incrementally learn about and build high-performing, superlative frontend experiences that are both functionally and aesthetically pleasing to use
Gain experience engineering a production React application with a modern architecture based on functional components, hooks, context, and custom integrations with the API layer
Have the opportunity to focus on various parts of the application including, but not limited to, business logic and functionality, APIs, user experience, user interface, testing, etc.
Continually iterate and improve an innovative product; setting foundations both in code and documentation for the frontend
Have a voice in team decisions, strategies, and practices with opportunities to collaborate with users, designers, scientists, engineers and more to develop product concepts and then make them a reality
Tackle complex problems like optimizing React rendering to 60 fps or managing a user interface for complex and multi-dimensional data wrangling
Contribute to implementing a design system and collaborate with a multitude of stakeholders including Product Design, Data Science, and various levels of Leadership and Engineering

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

Experience with JavaScript, HTML and CSS
Experience or interest in utility first CSS
Experience or interest working w/ TypeScript and React
A desire to develop user interfaces and experiences, as well as, manage frontend code bases
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
An inclusive and entrepreneurial mindset: a creative thinker, gets things done, takes failure in stride, derives signal from ambiguity, and champions the team
An interest in learning biological sciences and digging into new challenges
